Ash & ink

Writing as ritual in times of grief

Grief reshapes the landscape of our lives, often leaving us searching for authentic expression, meaning, belonging and connection.

Ash and Ink is an invitation to reclaim writing as ritual practice: a way of tending to and exploring the sacred terrain of grief with intention, presence and care.

Through guided prompts, reflective exercises and quiet moments of writing, we will create space to honor what has been lost, witness what remains, and discover what is emerging.

It is a safe, gentle online gathering that invites participants to explore writing as a supportive resource during loss, transition, and remembrance.

Grief is a very common aspect of being human, loving and caring, yet many of us move through grief without communal spaces or meaningful ceremonies or practices to process and hold our sorrow.

No prior writing experience is necessary – only a willingness to listen inwardly. This is a ritual of expression rather than an expectation of any specific outcome or polished work.

Together we will explore how writing can serve as a vessel for memory, a companion for sorrow, and a sacred practice of tending to ourselves and our communities.

This gathering welcomes anyone navigating grief in its many forms, whether recent or longstanding, personal or collective. Participants are invited to write, reflect, and share (if they wish) within a supportive and compassionate online space.

Bring a notebook/journal, a candle and your curiosity for what may emerge when grief is our muse.
